Bloody Point Golf Club

Don't let the name confuse you, this is a beautiful golf course.  Opened in 1991, the Daufuskie Island Resort's second course, Bloody Point, earned its name from a notorious battle in the 1700's between the Indians and the British on the island's southern-most tip. Designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish, this 6900-yard, par-72 courses was also given high marks by Fodor's Golf Digest "Places to Play", earning a shining 4-star rating from its publication. Zagat's "America Top Golf Courses Survey" listed Bloody Point in their "Best Set of Par 4's" Category.

Known for both its challenge and playability for golfers of all skill levels, this waterfront golf course "Bloody Point" hugs the Mungen River and utilizes some of the island's most scenic coastal marshes and dark water lagoons. The course maintains its natural environment by not having any evidence of cart paths while maintaining preservation areas to attract wildlife and nurture fauna, making it perfect for walking. The Bald American eagle's nest on the 7th hole and the Osprey's nest of the 15th are visited annually by these nationally treasured birds.

With interesting design characteristics throughout the course, this oceanfront golf course near the Atlantic Ocean offers an unforgettable day of golf. A winding green serves both the 12th and 14th holes while the 18th green with a menacing bunker sitting in the middle of it offers a unique challenge. With water coming into play on 13 of the 18 holes and breathtaking views of the intercoastal waterway from the 10th, 16th, 17th and 18th, Bloody Point is a golfer's dream. As Fodor's Golf Digest "Places to Play" said, "It's almost like playing your own private golf course".

Bloody Point is part of Daufuskie Island Resort & Breathe Spa, which is one of the Top 50 Golf Resorts in North America as voted by Golf Digest, Fall 2004. The course offers a remarkable blend of natural beauty and unspoiled scenery, making it one of the most memorable golf experiences in the Lowcountry. Additionally, the course is managed by renowned Troon Golf.
